Jeremy Solomons is the UK-born founder and president of Jeremy Solomons & Associates, which helps current and future leaders to connect and communicate effectively across all cultures – geographical, organizational, professional and individual.
From his base in Austin, Texas, he coaches, consults, designs curriculum, facilitates and trains in the areas of: Career/Life Planning; Creative Problem Solving; Cultural Competence; Leading Intact and Virtual Teams; Post-Merger Integration and Synergy; Strategic Planning; Well-Dressed Presenting and Naked Facilitating; and Whole-Brain Thinking.
Since moving permanently to the USA in 1992, he and his associates have worked directly and indirectly with many globalizing organizations – including 3M, Aker Kvaerner, AMD, American Express, BHP Billiton, BMC, Boeing, BorgWarner, Carbo Medics, Caritas, Citicorp Diners Club, Dell, Deutsche Bank, EDP Renewables, Federal Signal, Freescale, Gemalto, Getrag Ford, Global Foundries, Honeywell, International SEMATECH, International Space Station, Johnson & Johnson, Los Alamos National Lab., Motorola, NASA, Robert Bosch, Royal Dutch Shell, Sandia National Labs., Semiconductor Research Corporation, Sodexo, Star Alliance, T-Systems, Tupperware Brands, University of Texas, Whole Foods, the World Bank and WorleyParsons – across North America, Europe and Asia.
In the past, Jeremy managed a diverse staff and worked with clients and colleagues from all over the globe, while employed as a full-time Banker, Educator and Journalist in six multinational institutions: Citibank, JP Morgan, Lloyds Bank International, Reuters News Agency, United Press International and the World Bank.
He has lived, studied and worked for extended periods in eight countries: France, Germany, Hong Kong (and China), Israel, Italy, Switzerland, the UK and the USA. He has also traveled and done business in some 40 countries around the Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America.
Born in Manchester, England – home of the Industrial Revolution and Manchester United – Jeremy holds MA and BA Honors degrees in French from the University of Oxford (Brasenose College). As well as speaking mother-tongue English, he has been fluent in French, German, Italian and US American, and proficient in Spanish and Texan. He has also studied ASL, Cantonese, Hebrew, Russian and Swiss German.
Jeremy is adjunct faculty at the University of Texas – Professional Development Center in Austin, TX; the Intercultural Management Institute at American University in Washington, DC; and the Centre for Intercultural Communication at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC.
He co-founded and coordinates a global best practices forum – the Global Community Dialogue for Diversity, Leadership and Change – and a local best practices forum, called the Greater Austin Forum for Diversity and Inclusion.
He currently serves on the advisory boards of both the African Leadership Bridge and Multicultural Refugee Coalition (MRC), having been the MRC’s executive board president in 2011. He is also on the program team for the 2013 Austin Middle School Diversity Leadership Conference.
As well as his 16-year-old daughter, Emma, he loves live dance and theater, leisure travel, good food and both playing and watching soccer/football (to work off the good food). He is a naturalized US American citizen but he realizes he can never become a Texan.
