    Angela Heads (she, her) is a licensed psychologist who has devoted her career to advancing equity and social justice to improve academic, career and health outcomes for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Through teaching, research, and clinical practice, her work has examined individual, interpersonal and systemic influences on health and well-being. She has primarily worked in academic, medical, and community based mental health settings.

    She has presented her research for local, regional, and national community-based and scientific organizations and published several scientific articles in peer reviewed journals. She is frequently invited to speak on topics including healing from racial trauma, allyship, and how gendered racism and violence impact women in science careers. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholar and Minority Fellowship Program Summer Psychology Institute Fellow. She is on the editorial board of Mental Health, Religion & Culture and the Journal of Black Psychology. She has been honored in 2020 as an Outstanding Research Mentor and, in 2021, she received a Clinical Excellence award.

    As a consultant, her goal is to help organizations to use a data driven approach to understanding diversity, equity, and inclusion and to develop effective and sustainable strategies to foster a welcoming and healthy working environment.
