Senior Research Director
Karen Dahms is currently the Senior Research Director for Jennifer Brown Consulting, a global diversity and inclusion firm. As a writer, researcher and thought leader, Karen has developed a wide range of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) content, including insight papers, resource guides, and research reports on societal trends and workplace and industry best practices. Before joining Jennifer Brown, Karen was the Research Director at Diversity Best Practices, where her thought leadership and research provided strategic direction to diversity and inclusion programs and practitioners in Fortune 500 member companies. While at DBP, Karen also authored the book Building an Inclusive Talent Strategy, and co-authored the ERG Leadership Handbook. Prior to her work in the DEI space, Karen worked as a senior organizational development consultant for dozens of clients in the public and the private sector. She has experience working at the highest level of the client organization, and an extensive background in strategic planning, program improvement, and change management. At the federal level, Karen led senior leaders through agency-wide planning initiatives, managed projects to ‘reinvent’ core programs, helped to develop national policy, and authored white papers and annual reports to Congress. For clients in the private sector, Karen helped executive teams carry out strategic planning initiatives, design and implement performance-based organizational structures, and improve business outcomes. Karen is a strong advocate for social justice and a passionate environmental activist. Based in New Jersey, she participates in and supports national and community-based efforts related to sustainability, climate change, and building communities.
