    Virtual Event Producer

Divya Pithiya is a first generation Indian-American. Both of her parents were born in India and Divya is the first in her family to go to college. She was born and raised in Southern California. Starting at a young age Divya has had a passion for helping others. During high school, she dedicated 3 years volunteering at the local hospital, Redlands Community Hospital. She went on to volunteer at a retirement home for 1 year before leaving for college. Divya received numerous awards for service to her community.

Divya earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at California State University, Northridge. During her undergraduate career she continued her passion of helping others; she volunteered 300 hours with AmeriCorps at a self-help clinic at the Van Nuys Superior Court in California to help indigent families who could not afford an attorney. Divya assisted self-represented litigants in family law related issues. She loved her time here so much because she made a network of friends, and ultimately this experience pushed her to go to law school.

Divya went on to obtain her Juris Doctor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. During her 3 years she spent time jumping around different non-profits to help those in need. She volunteered at The Legal Aid Society of San Diego assisting people who were facing an eviction. This was a highly rewarding experience for Divya. She also spent a summer at the San Diego County Public Defender’s office helping people who were incarcerated. During her final year in law school she began working as a small claims mediator at the San Diego Superior Court. She was able to settle countless small claims cases and ease the caseload for the judges.

After she graduated law school, she moved back to her hometown to help her parents run a small business. In her free time Divya enjoys playing video games online, spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs Murphy and Marley, her peanut M&M’s as she likes to call them.
